Mavo Biography & Early Life
Mavo, whose real name is Marvin Oseremen Ukanigbe, was born in Ekpoma, Edo State, Nigeria, on November 1, 2003. Mavo had a strong passion for music from an early age and experimented with improvised instruments while in high school.
As he started posting early songs on SoundCloud, his inventiveness and enthusiasm soon made him stand out, drawing praise for his unadulterated skill and distinctive approach. Mavo, who is 21 years old, is still establishing himself as a rising Afrobeats star.
With roots in Edo State’s rich cultural legacy, he combines his life experiences with rhythmic rhythms that capture his youthful vitality and Nigerian identity.

Mavo Career
During his time in college, Mavo honed his craft and created a unique sound known as “Burbur Music,” which marked the official start of his musical career.
Afrobeats, rap, swagger, and Nigerian street lingo are all combined in this genre to create a new and unique atmosphere that appeals to today’s youth.
Inspired by musicians such as Young Thug, Wizkid, Trippie Redd, and Duncan Mighty, Mavo creates songs that strike a mix between street-driven rhythms and creative lyrics. His career began in 2023 with the release of his first effort, Ukanigbe. Later, he established himself as a member of the new generation of Nigerian musicians with SANKO and SANKO II. His 2025 project, Kilometre EP, increased his streaming audience and global reach. Escaladizzy, which featured WAVE$TAR and went viral before peaking to number 17 on the UK Official Afrobeats Chart, was Mavo big break.
